One of the first three schools ever built in Richmond is celebrating it's 100th birthday today.
The proud students at Bellevue Elementary School celebrated with performances, games, and even provided guided tours - a bit of a history lesson in a fun way.
Part of the original school is still being used as classrooms for Special Education.
This day especially means a lot to it's principal: Reginia Far.
"Bellevue is so special because it is a school that is steeped in history but also academic excellence and I am doubly proud to be here because I did my student teaching here and I taught here for 11 years before moving on," said Far.
Bellevue Elementary School is K thru 5, located on One East Grace Street in Historic Church Hill.
