RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
Police are still investigating after a major accident at Gaskins and Mayland shut down the southbound lanes of Gaskins for several hours.
Police responded to the five-car accident around 3:30 p.m. Friday. Of the 12 people involved in the accident, five people were sent to the hospital.
A 12-year-old boy that was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries is now in critical, but stable condition. The other four people will be ok.
Police have not released any details about charges that may be filed and are still investigating at this time.
