
A vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Darbytown Road Tuesday morning, closing the Eastern Henrico roadway for hours and knocking out power to thousands.
A vehicle struck a power pole near Darbytown and Bickerstaff roads around 7:30 a.m. The crash brought down power lines, knocking out power to around 4,300 people, according to Dominion Power.
Henrico police say Darbytown Road between Bickerstaff Road and Springcrest Lane reopened around 1:00 p.m.
The woman driving the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. A 6-year-old boy in the car was not injured. Wires did go down on top of a GRTC bus near by but nobody was injured.
