Tonight at 5: Boy hit by city vehicle, school safety task force, red light cameras

The family of a 17-year-old boy is praying he'll recover after he was hit by a city vehicle while riding his bike. Jessica Jaglois is in South Richmond following this breaking news.

Is Virginia doing enough to make sure our schools are safe? That's the question a new committee of experts is tackling under the governor's orders. Governor McDonnell's School and Campus Safety Task Force held it's very first meeting today. Brent Solomon was there and will explain what the committee is charged to do.

The General Assembly is considering a proposal to put the breaks on certain tickets issued by red light cameras. Richmond is the latest locality to add red light cameras to an intersection. Rachel DePompa talked with one lawmaker who is calling the whole thing a money-grabbing scam.
