Jodie Foster received the Cecil B DeMille award for lifetime achievement in film at the 70th Annual Golden Globes on Sunday night. It's what the actress/director said during the accepting speech that took center stage.
Foster addressed rumors that she was a lesbian. "I came out a long, long time ago," Foster said. She added her coming out to friends a long time ago in private and not in a public forum. Foster acknowledged she had a female partner when she thanked Cydney Bernard. Foster has been assumed that she was in a relationship with Bernard for 14 years.
The couple met on the set of the film Sommersby in 1993 and are raising two sons, Charles, nine, and Kit, six, at their Malibu home.
