Paul Zamecnik is still looking for the one person out of 10 million registered worldwide stem cell donors who could save his life.
While the leukemia patient's quest continues, he hopes others will help by becoming donors at a drive this weekend in Disputanta.
"Basically I'm a really good candidate for a transplant," said Zamecnik. "The only thing I'm missing is a donor."
Zamecnik is still hoping Facebook can help his long shot plea payoff after the one match who could save his life with a stem cell transplant disappeared.
NBC12 Facebook fans shared his plea to find that missing donor more than 2,500 times.
Many asked how else they could help. The easiest way is to become a donor.
There will be a drive at the Disputanta Community Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in honor of Josh, a Disputanta volunteer firefighter who passed away in may.
A simple swab of your cheek could help you save lives like these.
