Man who went missing in Chesterfield found safe

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

A man who went missing last week while visiting his family in Chesterfield has been found safe, according to his parents.

Robert Sweeney, 24, was home visiting family over the past weekend when he disappeared. However, the detective in charge of the case says he has now been found and is alive and okay, according to Teri and Randy Sweeney.

Due to privacy laws the Sweeneys don't know where he went, other than to say that he bought a ticket at the Greyhound terminal and left town only to be found by another agency.

The Newport News substitute teacher was visiting his parents for the holidays when he went missing. His parents grew concerned because his car was still parked outside of their home and he didn't alert any friends or relatives before leaving. He also left his keys, phone, and coat behind.
