Public Health Foundation Enterprises (PHFE) to focus on supporting programs that reduce gun violence and promote accessible mental health services
Los Angeles, California (PRWEB) January 09, 2013
PHFE, one of the largest public health focused fiscal sponsors in the US, is committed to identifying programs that can benefit from fiscal sponsorship and focus on the areas of reducing gun violence and promoting more universal access to mental health interventions and services.
According to PHFE’s CEO Mark Bertler, “PHFE has spent decades building the skills and tools to support public health programs but we haven’t adequately focused on these two key areas”.
“While PHFE prides itself in including the social determinants of health in its mission, we haven’t been as aggressive in sponsoring programs that reduce gun violence and promote more universal access to mental health services as we need to be” he observed.
In 2013 PHFE intends to actively seek out programs that could benefit from the services of a fiscal sponsor and focus on reducing gun violence and promoting greater access to mental health services.
"While we’re not the experts in these areas, PHFE has the skills and tools to make it easier for the experts to get things done” said Mr. Bertler.
