A UPS delivery driver discovered a dead body just inside the doorway of a home in Chesterfield. It was the first of two bodies found at the scene. The home is in the 5200 block of River Road in Ettrick. Investigators say they don't have any suspects, at this point.
Chesterfield police Captain Kevin Smith says the UPS delivery man noticed the front door open, with the storm door's glass shattered.
"He saw a body laying inside the doorway," said Smith.
The driver called police at 5:45 p.m.. Officers arrived quickly and moved through the house and found a second body.
Neighbor Cary Davis says he heard a gunshot.
"I thought it was a hunter in the woods or something. But it was louder than normal," described Davis.
Another neighbor says she heard several shots, one outside and two that sounded as if they were fired inside the home.
Neighbors say a lady in her 60s and her adult daughter live at the home.
"Quiet, quiet neighbors. Really quiet," said Davis.
Davis also notes that the daughter seemed to have medical issues, with medical crews transporting her to the hospital on more than one occasion.
However, investigators aren't releasing any information about the victims, except that it's believed they did live at the home.
Chesterfield police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Solvers at 748-0660.
