Transferring prescriptions

APPOMATTOX, VA (WWBT) -

Dr. John Clay is helping his patients transfer prescriptions.

With a new year sometimes comes new insurance and the need for a switch to a different pharmacy. Prescriptions that are still current can be transferred to the new pharmacy and a new prescription is not always necessary.

It is always advisable to get all of your prescriptions at the same pharmacy if possible.

Give a reasonable amount of time for the prescription to be transferred. If the prescription has no refills left, it requires a new prescription from your physician.
