Troy Daniels set a VCU school record with nine three pointers as the Rams rolled to a 96-67 victory over Farleigh Dickinson Saturday afternoon at the Siegel Center. The win is VCU's seventh straight and improves its record to 10-3.
Shaka Smart's team exploded right out of the gate, opening the game on a 16-3 run and holding a 47-30 lead at the half. The Rams opened up the second half on a 34-8 run to make it a long night for the Knights and cruised to the win.
Once again, Havoc was in full effect, as the VCU defense forced a season-high 34 turnovers and scoring 42 points off of the give-aways. Daniels finished the night with a career-high 27 points, all coming from long range. Juvonte Reddic chipped in a double-double of 22 points and eleven rebounds. Rob Brandenberg scored 13 points and Treveon Graham netted ten to round out the Rams in double-figures.
VCU will open up 2013 on the road, as the Rams travel to East Tennessee State on Wednesday.
