Crash on I-95 Involving State Trooper - NBC12.com - Richmond, VA News

Virginia State Police are currently investigating a crash on Interstate 95 southbound at mile marker 56 in Colonial Heights involving a state trooper.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon when police say the trooper had pulled off on the side of the road when a RV and a pick-up truck collided behind him.

The crash caused the pick-up to lose control and slam into the police cruiser. The trooper dove out of the way just in time, but was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  

The driver of the truck involved was taken to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
