Henrico wins tournament title; Benedictine advances to finals

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

One area boys basketball team is celebrating a championship, while another will go for its second tournament title in eight days Saturday night.

Henrico used a big second half to down Potomac, 75-63, in the championship game of the Henrico Holiday Hoops event.  The Warriors found themselves trailing, 33-29, at the half, but used a huge third quarter to take the lead and pull away, in which Henrico outscored the Panthers, 25-8.  Tim Jones led the way with 23 points for the Warriors, while Jordan Talley added 21 points.  It marks the second straight year Henrico has won its holiday tournament.

Benedictine will play for a Capital City Classic title Saturday evening, after topping John Carroll, 66-62.  Khris Lane led four Cadets in double figures with 17 points.  Benedictine will face McDonogh for the championship.
