Posted: Updated:
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Post office customers still have until midday Saturday to ensure their gifts will arrive on or before Christmas, as weather in the Midwest threatens to snarl deliveries.

According to the US Post Office, customers using Express Mail can send packages out Saturday and still have them delivered in time for Christmas. Rates for Express Mail start at $18.95.

Although post offices will be closed Christmas Day, couriers will still report to work on Christmas to deliver Express Mail parcels.

Fed Ex reports it will not deliver to homes or businesses Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. UPS will deliver Christmas Eve but not Christmas. On-time deadlines for the commercial carries very with parcel size and destination.

Inclement weather is predicted in 17 states as a result of the Midwest's first major snowstorm of the season. Despite the weather concerns, USPS Express Mail comes with a money-back guarantee for Christmas delivery.
