RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - If you spend much time in northern Virginia, you probably would not be surprised by this claim by Governor Bob McDonnell. At a recent press conference, the governor called northern Virginia the most heavily trafficked region in America. Traffic in the D.C. metro is tough, but is it the worst?
According to reporters at Politifact Virginia. Governor McDonnell's claim is right on the mark. Reporter Sean Gorman said the governor is right, but he left out one important distinction.
"It was the Washington D.C. region, including northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs; it listed that as the most congested place in the United States," said Gorman.
