In recognition of the Connecticut moment of silence for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting, Governor McDonnell is asking for a statewide moment of silence Friday morning at 9:30.
The proclamation marking a day of mourning also calls for the bell at the Capitol Bell Tower ring 26 times in honor of each of the victims of tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary.
Governor McDonnell says the move is a small token of support and solidarity for those grieving in Connecticut.
