CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
The man accused in a deadly Chesterfield shooting will be in court Friday.
Carmeka Dunston said that she was in the next room when her son, 20-year-old Jameshai Smith, fired the shots that killed 32-year-old Brian Long. Dunston says her son needed help.
She said he had gotten hooked on prescription pills and began acting in a way she describes, as schizophrenic.
