RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -
A Richmond family is staying with relatives as investigators try to find out what caused their house to catch fire.
A neighbor called in after noticing heavy smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters knocked the flames back quickly and even rescued a dog inside.
The owners weren't home at the time of the fire. Richmond Fire says there is heavy smoke damage throughout the home.
