Holiday travel preparedness

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The holiday season usually means families getting on the road to see loved ones. Before you take off for Christmas, make sure you take your health into account.

Lauren Richardson says it's a good idea to take some important essentials with you.

Get yourself a plastic pouch or something waterproof to store all your items in one place.

Be sure to bring bandages and some antiseptic wipes. If traveling to some place warm, don't forget your sunscreen. Also, remember some basic items like pain killers, tissues, antacids and don't forget your prescription medications.
