If you travel Interstate 64, you know it can be a nightmare especially between Richmond and Hampton.
Virginia Department of Transportation is studying ways to provide relief to drivers, but that relief comes with a price.
VDOT officials want to know what you think about their proposals to pay for the expansion of a 75-mile stretch of I-64, from I-95 in Richmond to I-664 in Hampton.
One option is to put a toll on it. Another option is to add an optional toll lane just for drivers who want to bypass traffic.
Officials say the widening project will not be easy. The state conducted an environmental impact study and admits there are some kinks it would have to resolve.
You will be able to see the results of this study Thursday night and let officials know what you think about the proposed options.
VDOT will hold a public hearing Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.at its office in downtown Richmond, located at 1221 East Broad Street.
The meeting will be the third and final meeting VDOT will hold this week on the proposals.
