The Chesterfield teenager charged with accidentally shooting his friend may be linked to other crimes.
Court documents obtained by NBC12 show stolen items recovered from the teen's home were from a home nearby.
Several homes were broken into and burglarized in the Irongate neighborhood. The victims said each of the crimes lead back to the same suspect: the 16-year-old charged with shooting his friend.
The shooting took place on December 2. Shortly thereafter, police searched his house.
Search warrants show shotguns, a computer monitor and two bags full of jewelry were recovered.
Amy Fens believes some of that jewelry may belong to her. Chesterfield police have already returned her husband's shotguns, which were found in the teen's home.
"We just moved to this house so it's really making us think, did we make the right decision?" Said Fens.
Fens said she's glad no one was seriously injured on December 2, but acknowledges the shooting led police to her family's stolen property.
"If that hadn't of happened we might still be looking," said Fens.
NBC12 is not releasing the suspect's name because of his age. He will remain in jail until his December 28 court date.
