Richmond police say a suspicious package on the city's Southside was actually just junk mail.
Authorities received a call about a cylindrical device in a mailbox around 12:15 p.m. Crews x-rayed the package found in the 4300 block of Warwick Road. The bomb squad was called to the scene and used a robot to inspect a mailbox. Police on the scene said the item was determined to be a rolled up advertisement.
Traffic heading north on Warwick Road was detoured for the investigation.
