
James WolfeA man accused of abducting and beating a teacher will go to trial Tuesday in Powhatan.
The Commonwealth's Attorney expects James Wolfe to plead guilty in the beating of Mary Anderson. Wolfe allegedly broke into the 57-year-old's home, beat her with a meat cleaver, set her home on fire, and then forced her to drive to an ATM to withdraw money.
He then dumped her on a road in Chesterfield, where she was found several broken bones, including a crushed skull, according to police.
Wolfe faces three life sentences if convicted.
