Breaking: Fire and Shooting

Good Tuesday Morning from Gray. Here's a look at some of the stories we following on 12 News Today.

We are following two breaking stories this morning. First, an apartment fire leaves one person in critical condition. This happened around midnight in the 37-Hundred Block of Bolling Road --that's in the Eastern part of the county. When crews arrived one person was trapped but they were able to rescue him. The victim is being treated at VCU Medical Center and we're told is in critical condition.

Also breaking, Petersburg Police are investigating a shooting involving a UPS delivery driver. It happened in the Lieutenant's Run Apartment Complex. We're told the driver was shot in the leg and is being treated at Southside Regional Medical Center.

The man accused of abducting and beating a teacher will go to trial today in Powhatan. The Commonwealth's Attorney expects James Wolfe to plead guilty. Wolfe allegedly broke into the teacher's home, beat her with a meat cleaver, set her home on fire, and then forced her to drive to an ATM to withdraw money.
