Dale T. La Belle, Ph.D., offers his readings of history and social science as guides toward future
Reading, Mass. (PRWEB) December 10, 2012
Retired historian and author Dale T. La Belle offers readers the fruits of his recent research into international economics and policy in his new book “Will the United States Survive Until 2084?” (published by Trafford Publishing).
This book is divided into two separate but equal sections. The first section details N.D. Kondrat’ev’s study of the “long wave” business cycle as a further development of the business cycle discovered by the Ukrainian M.T. Tugan-Baranovskii and later accepted by Walt Whitman Rostow in Texas. The second traces a continuity of Puritan-exiled generations from the Pioneer Valley in central Massachusetts to Texas, where its continuing interest in controlling the Mexican border is illustrated
By way of illustration, Edward Mandell House, the Texan political operative, wrote a polemical novel detailing the benefits of a salutary military dictatorship in the United States. His reference to an imaginary Fort Magruder in Texas was inspired by the career of John Bankhead Magruder as Confederate general, notwithstanding his concealed European origins. The broader role of German colonization in Texas is also illuminated.
After 2030, LaBelle argues, “The conjunction of the long wave cycle, climate change and the growth of minority ethnicities to majority status in the United States suggest the possibility that the current constitutional structure will be terminated then.”
