A near 500-pound pony statue heading to Pony Pasture is now missing. Its owners says someone stole it over the weekend.
"I just think of all the people that are going to say, 'where's the pony?'" Gail Neal said. "And what am I gonna say?"
Neal says someone stole the sentimental statue from her driveway between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
"I even looked in the woods to see if it was back there," said Neal.
Stealing the massive pony would have been no easy task.
"It was made of cement so it is heavy, very heavy," said Neal.
Neal says there may be evidence of who took the pony. She found footprints and cigarette butts after the pony went missing. She says she knows it was probably a prank, but the pony means a lot to her.
"It came in from a very good friend. It's very special. And it's not just special to me, but it's special to the people that come to the pony pasture and the whole neighborhood."
Now, she's trying to figure out how to tell her grandson that the pony loved is gone.
If you know anything, call police.
