A convicted sex offender from Richmond is back behind bars accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
State Police arrested Louis E. Speight, 47, Saturday on 10 felonies after the mother of the victim discovered inappropriate behavior between her daughter and Speight, police said.
Speight was charged with eight counts of taking indecent liberties with a child, one count of object sexual penetration and one count of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.
Speight is a convicted sex offender, who is registered with the state. According to his listing on the registry, he was convicted of forcible sodomy in Chesapeake Circuit Court in 1984. He also was convicted twice in Chesterfield Court, in 2002 and 2009, for failing to register.
