Henrico County Public Schools have scratched one redistricting option after protests from parents.
The so-called "blended option" is no longer under consideration by the school system. Instead, a new Option 1 (Adjusted) plan is now on the table. The previous option 1 and 2 plans are also still being considered.

The district is asking parents to provide feedback by using an online questionnaire. The School Board is expected to make a final decision on December 13. The new districts would go into effect in fall of 2013.

The redistricting was precipitated by the planned opening of a new west area elementary school next fall off of Pouncey Tract Road. New attendance boundaries aim to ease overcrowding at existing schools.
