VDOT hosting three citizen information meetings on proposed I-95 tolls

Staff will provide the public the latest proposal to improve Interstate 95 in Virginia, which includes a potential tolling location in Sussex County. Revenue from toll collections would be a funding source to help pay for improvements such as rehabilitating aging bridges, pavements and other needs.

Dec. 10: 6:30-8:30 p.m., Sussex Central High School, 21394 Sussex Drive, Sussex

Dec. 12: 6-8 p.m., John Tyler Community College, Nicholas Student Center, 13101 Jefferson Davis Highway, Chester.

Dec. 17: 6-8 p.m., VDOT Fredericksburg District Office, 86 Deacon Road Fredericksburg.

WHO: Michael A. Estes, P.E., Director of Strategic Initiatives, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)

WHY: These meetings are part of a broad outreach effort to inform local officials, motorists, residents and others about the commonwealth's proposal to the federal government to improve I-95, which includes tolling.  During the meetings, the public will have the opportunity to learn more about the proposal, review potential toll discount plans, ask questions and provide their comments.
