CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
Police are at the scene of a head-on collision in Chesterfield.
The accident happened Friday afternoon at Courthouse Road near West Providence Road. A car, going north on Courthouse, crossed the median into oncoming traffic - and hit a pick up truck.
Drivers in both vehicles were taken to VCU Medical Center - no word on their condition.
An adult female passenger in the truck died at the scene. Police are notifying next of kin.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The area will be heavily congested while police investigate.
