Uptown Alley officially opened in Chesterfield Thursday. The 20-million-dollar facility includes an arcade, two bowling alleys, pool tables and a restaurant.
It's a 57,000 square foot entertainment complex offering sixty arcade games, almost forty bowling lanes, a full-service restaurant and plenty of drinks.
However, Uptown Alley once faced an uphill battle. While Chesterfield County officials were game for the complex, residents didn't want the three-story bowling pin that sits on the facility's roof.
Steve Uphoff, the complex developer, promised a piece of art and most residents got on board.
"We are a destination for Chesterfield County as an entertainment, restaurant and bowling facility," said Uphoff.
Uphoff also says the facility will bring in about 8-million-dollars a year in revenue. It also created 140 new jobs and countless more for the people who worked on the project.
Uptown also brings plenty of entertainment. The games are among the most popular in the world. And with two bowling alleys - these lanes are one of a kind!
But if your game isn't something to brag about, there's plenty more that makes Uptown Alley, the kind of alley you want to get caught in.
After two weeks of a soft opening, Uptown Alley will officially open to the public Thursday night starting at 8 o'clock.
This is Uptown Alley's second complex. The other is located in Phoenix, Arizona.
