UR board meets on future of soccer and track programs

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

The University of Richmond Board of Trustees has a big decision to make, and that is whether to reinstate the men's soccer and track programs or not.

The board's decision to cut the programs back in September in favor of a men's lacrosse team, sparked quite a bit of backlash from alumni, students, and parents.

Many of the students say they were mislead.

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, opponents of the decision say they have raised $2.5 million and will fight for the return of the programs when the board meets Thursday and Friday.
