Two Virginia Tech football players are facing felony charges for what they are calling a prank.
Joshua Trimble, 20, and Brian Rody, 19, are charged with manufacturing and detonating an explosive device. Police say the explosion went off near a Blacksburg apartment building on Sunday. No one was hurt.
Trimble is a linebacker for the Hokies. Rody is a backup quarterback.
Under university policy, players facing felony charges are suspended from the team.
A preliminary hearing is set for January.
