LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

The reigning Division II national champion VSU lady Blazers attracting another South Georgia product to try and repeat.

Lee County lead off hitter Brandi Blount is the new addition to the VSU program. Blount was a first team all region selection the past two seasons batting .302 this year.

She also was part of the Georgia Dugout Club All State/ All Star Team. Blount says staying close to home was important but also watching Thomas Macera coach the Lady Blazers to a national championship just won her over.

"Well I know that coach Macera teaches you to like deal with pressure really well so I know those players were under pressure but they know how to handle it and I'm sure he's going to teach me how to do that so." Blount said.
