Old Dominion Boat Club to sponsor Holiday Parade of Lights

On Saturday, December 1, 2012, the Old Dominion Boat Club will sponsor the 13th annual Holiday Parade of Lights, a parade of illuminated boats on the Potomac.

The Holiday Parade of Lights is also an opportunity to collect for Toys-for-Tots and Decorate-A-Vet. This year's parade route will go from the Alexandria Waterfront to Washington Channel.  Prizes will be awarded for the best decorated boats. Pre Parade land activities along the Alexandria Waterfront are sponsored by RedPeg Marketing.

"In partnership with the Washington Waterfront Association, The Old Dominion Boat Club is pleased to now sponsor this annual holiday kick-off tradition," said Miles Holtzman, President of the Old Dominion Boat Club. "It is a festive way to start the holiday season and to give to those less fortunate.  Old Dominion Boat Club a part of Alexandria for 132 years and encourages activity on the Alexandria Waterfront."

Boat registration information is available at www.alexandriaparadeoflights.com.
