ATHENS, GA (WALB) -

Saturday's SEC championship game between 3rd ranked Georgia and 2nd ranked Alabama is being called one of the biggest for the Bulldogs in decades.

A Georgia victory will send the Bulldogs to their first BCS national championship game appearance.

With the stakes so high, the Bulldogs are hunkering down in their preparations this week. Before the team meetings and practices, the Bulldogs spoke to the media about the big game.

All except for quarterback Aaron Murray, who doesn't want to speak to the media, in order to focus on preparing for Alabama.

That is something is house mate linebacker Christian Robinson understands.

"This is the biggest game we have ever played in. why not use this time to study and prepare," said Robinson. "He can talk about it afterwards. I think that is his mindset. I think it is a good one. There is a lot of pressure on his shoulders. Everybody knows it. Why not take all the time to give it all you have got and have no regrets about it?"

This is the first time Georgia and Alabama have met in the SEC title game. Georgia lost to then number one LSU in last year's title game.

The Bulldogs say this is a different year and a different team even if many of the players on the Bulldogs roster were on the Georgia Dome field last December against LSU.

The Dogs say last year's team was just happy to be in the title game. This year the goal is much different Saturday.

"I think once we got that lead we kind of relaxed and LSU kept playing," said Cornerback Damian Swann. "This year we are going to compete and we are going there to win."

"It tastes too good not to get the whole piece. You get a little taste of pie, you want the whole piece. You can't get half of it. We are trying to go back and get the whole piece," said Tight End Jay Rome.

The SEC championship starts at four o'clock Saturday in Atlanta. This will be Georgia's 5th SEC championship game appearance, all coming under Coach Mark Richt.

Alabama is playing in their eighth SEC title game and this is the first time these SEC powers have met in the SEC title game. Georgia is 2-2 all time in the SEC championship game.
