Gas leak forces evacuation in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

A massive gas leak is forcing an evacuation in Richmond.

Richmond Fire officials confirm this is unfolding at Old Warwick Road and Clydewood Avenue.

There is a rupture in an old gas line...people have been evacuated from nearby homes.

The leak has been stopped but crews are still checking the line and making sure there aren't any other problems. Residents should be allowed back in homes soon.
