CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -
Shots were fired and an assault occurred outside of a house party in Chesterfield County overnight.
Police say they got the call around 11:40 last night around the 1900 block of Matoaca Road.
According to the report, people were leaving the party when someone started firing a gun into the air.
A man was hurt but police say he was injured during an assault and did not have to go to the hospital.
Investigators say they are looking for the person who fired the gun but did not release a description.
