Hundreds of volunteers served a Thanksgiving feast to thousands of people in what has become an annual tradition at the Richmond Convention Center.
About 800 volunteers with the Giving Heart organization prepared meals for nearly 3,500 people.
The yearly feast is open to one and all, although many people think it's only for the homeless. "A lot of people have a misconception with it," said volunteer Vicki Neilson, "this is really about involving the community to come together for a fellowship".
Many of the homeless people who did come to today's event, were not just there to eat. They were also volunteers, helping serve others.
There was more than just food at today's event. Giving Heart volunteers provided free haircuts, clothes and more.
