Tips and tricks: Finding the best black Friday deals


Retailers are getting an early start this year tempting consumers to ditch the football and go shopping.

Expect a rush at Toys-R-Us. The doors will open at 8pm with many of this year's hottest toys being discounted 40-to-50%. But it's only while supplies last, meaning you need to get there early to ensure the product will be stocked.

Sears opens at 8 as well. Their thanksgiving door busters include a 32 inch HDTV for $97. The prices are good through 1pm Friday, but don't wait until then to score these deals. The good ones will probably be out of stock by then.

Black Friday starts Thursday at 8 for K-Mart. A 24 inch LED TV is only 88 bucks and all the footwear is buy one get one free.

Shoppers will start swarming Walmart at 8 o'clock tonight this year. The store is promising everyone can get in on 3 big sales items. If the item sells out before you get there, you'll get a guarantee card ensuring it will be in stock for you at that price before Christmas.

The catch? The offer is only available from 10-to-11pm. Keep in mind, Walmart pricematches other stores sales ads.

Target will welcome shoppers at 9 o'clock tonight. You can get a Playstation 3 or the XBOX 360 Kinect bundle for less than $200. This year, Target is offering a holiday price match.

If you buy something at Target and see it advertised for less somewhere else, take the flier or online ad to customer service and you'll be refunded the difference. This offer is good through Christmas Eve.

If you seek appliances, try HH Gregg. It will open at 10pm with killer deals on appliances and electronics. Their stainless steel french door refrigerator is an amazing bargain; at $888, you'll save more than half off regular retail.

You've got less than an hour to get to dollar general, it's been open all day and closes at 6. You can get a bit of your childhood back for cheap. The Atari flashback game console is only 25 bucks.

Big Lots will be closed at 9 tonight. It's offering deals that are only for today, with many more to follow tomorrow. Today through Saturday, when you spend 50 dollars, you'll get a coupon worth 10 bucks for your next shopping trip.
