Memorial held for Henrico teen who fell off Lee Bridge

A memorial service will be held today for a Henrico teenager who fell to his death on the Lee Bridge.

According to the Times Dispatch, 18-year-old, Virgil McGarity likely tried to jump the gap between the north and southbound spans Saturday night.

He fell several dozen feet onto the footbridge which runs from Tredegar Street to Belle Isle.

A memorial for McGarity will be held Wednesday at 1pm, at Trinity United Methodist Church  on Forest Avenue.
