No one wants to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital but that's one Chesterfield family's plan. 83-year-old Allen Farnham was hit by a car over the weekend.
The Farnham's say the 83-year-old is doing a little bit better every day, but expect the recovery process to be long. As for the road to forgiveness, that might take a little longer.
Farnham was walking through the Walgreen's parking lot off Hull Street Road in Chesterfield Saturday night. 48-year-old Thomas Green says he was checking his side mirrors and backing into a parking spot when he hit Farnham.
His family says Farnham broke almost every bone in his face and chest. Still, they don't blame Green.
"You can't blame someone for just an accident," said the victim's son, Al Farnham, Jr. "They didn't mean to do it."
These are welcome words for Green. He says, since the accident he's been an emotional wreck and blames himself.
Green, like the Farnhams, just want to see Allen Farnham get better.
Green has been charged with reckless driving and is set to appear in court next week.
