RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond police are investigating a deadly shooting and car crash on the city's Southside.

Police received a call for an accident in the 3900 block of Larchmont Lane around 11:10 a.m. Monday. When they arrived they found a man dead with a gunshot wound, along with a crashed sedan and an SUV.

Police aren't identifying the victim, but the victim's father says his name was Terrell Anderson. The 33-year-old was a father to two.

The news is especially hard for his family, who says their faith in God and the justice system is getting them through.

"It's sad when you've found your child has died but there's more impact when you find out how they died," said Leroy Anderson, Terrell's father. "I forgive the person who did this but they have to pay for what they done."

Right now, police aren't detailing how the crash and the shooting are related. There's no word on the victim's name or any suspects. However, police do believe the crime was not random.

This is a developing story. Stay with NBC12 for updates.
