An Amber Alert officially ended Friday morning when police arrested the two suspects involved in the kidnapping of a Virginia girl.
Around 6:30 a.m. the Halifax Sheriff's Office was notified that a one-year-old girl, Alexis Rose Carwile, reported missing Thursday night was found safe in Prince George's County, MD.
The Halifax sheriff's office say the two suspects are her mother, Jennifer Dawn Carwile and Eric Eugene Black. The officer says the couple lost custody of Alexis on Thursday and took her from a relative's house in Halifax. When the social services department realized Alexis was gone, they immediately called 911.
The Halifax Sheriff's office says around 4:11 a.m. on Friday, a UPS driver spotted the suspects' car driving southbound on Interstate 95 in Chesterfield County. The driver called 911 and followed the car into Prince George where troopers were able to catch up on I-95 near Courtland Road. Only Black was inside the car. He was arrested and is now at Riverside Regional Jail.
Jennifer Carwile was found later with Alexis in Maryland. The sheriff's office says Alexis is safe and with child protective services.
