Woman attacked by man with stick in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond Police are on the lookout for a man who reportedly attacked a woman with a stick and then robbed her. It happened Thursday morning around 7:18 a.m. in the 500 block of West Leigh Street, just two block from Belvidere Street.

VCU Police say a female victim reported being approached by a man with a stick. They say he demanded money from her and cursed at her. When she refused, they say he hit her with the stick.

The man made off with the woman's pink Obama bag, which was holding her laptop.

The man is described as black, 5'6" to 5'7" tall, approximately 140 lbs., wearing a light brown fleece hoodie and brown pants.

He was last seen headed westbound on Leigh Street towards Belvidere carrying the pink Obama bag.
