Man fondles two women in West End stores

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Henrico police are looking for a man who groped a woman and a teenage girl in two West End stores.

A 16-year-old girl told police she was fondled from behind by a man while inside a store in the 7500 block of West Broad Street around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The next day around 2 p.m. a woman reported a similar incident at a grocery store in the 7000 block of Three Chopt Road.

A possible suspect left the store on a white moped or scooter. He's described as a white man with shoulder length hair and glasses. He stands 5'10" to 6'0" tall and weighs 130-150 pounds.

"The fear is you never know where this could go," said Henrico Police Lieutenant Linda Toney. "It may start with an assault and then it could escalate into something else. So we're asking people, please take a good look at this picture and help us identify who he is."

Police are also urging women who are victims of similar crimes to yell, scream, do anything to draw attention to yourself and the perpetrator.

If you are out of harm's way, take a picture of the suspect with your phone. It will help police identify him sooner.

Anyone with information regarding this offense is asked to contact Henrico Police at (804) 501-5000 or Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
