An accused arsonist is expected back in court Wednesday. John Bradley Smith is suspected of setting several buildings on fire since May.
When Smith was on the run, it made people living and working in the Midlothian area very nervous. That's because the fires happened within days and just a few miles of each other.
Smith was arrested in June and was indicted in September. He faces five counts of arson.
The first fire happened in an abandoned home on Coalfield Road in the beginning of May. For the next two weeks one fire after another was set. All in abandoned buildings, but very close to where people worked or lived.
Smith's court appearance is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Chesterfield County Circuit Court.
