Police ID woman killed in Chesterfield stabbing

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

Chesterfield Police have identified the victim of a homicide Monday night that ended in a chase on I-95.

Police say Mia Nichell Williams, 42, was found stabbed to death in her home in the 13500 block of Brandy Oaks Road, in a neighborhood just off Beach Road in Chesterfield. They were called to the home by her teenaged children at 9:23 p.m. Monday. Her husband, Tony Williams, drove off before officers arrived, police said.

Police say they spotted Tony Williams near the Chesterfield County Government complex 10 minutes later. When they attempted to pull him over, he drove onto Route 288 south and then led police on a chase on I-95 north, according to police. At one point police had to shut down all lanes of I-95 due to the chase.

Williams crashed near the Willis Road exit, then ran across several lanes of the interstate before being struck by a car on I-95 south, according to police. He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he was listed in serious, but stable condition Tuesday afternoon. Charges are pending.

Neighbors say Mia Williams was a nurse. Police say the children are now with other family members. They were not taken to the hospital.
