Council to vote on Riverfront Plan

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Richmond City Council is expected to vote on a plan for the Riverfront Monday.

Parts of the plan focus on transforming Mayo Island into an open space area or park. The Richmond Planning Commission adopted the final version of the plan in September.

City leaders want to preserve the landscape while easing access to the James River.

Monday's public hearing starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
