Several roads on the Northside and the Fan will be getting repaved in the coming weeks as part of an ongoing infrastructure project by the City.
Repaving projects totaling $1,426,000 begin Monday, as part of Mayor Dwight Jones' plan to repave 25 percent of neighborhood streets over a 5-year period.
Work will begin on Brook Road between Brookland Park Boulevard and Lombardy Ave. Monday and conclude on Nov. 21.
The following Monday, Nov. 19, the City will begin paving Grove Ave. between Park Ave. and the Boulevard, Floyd Ave. between Cherry St. and the Boulevard and Hanover AVe. between Park Ave. and the Boulevard. The completion date for that project is Dec. 21.
The work will require some lanes and streets to be closed off and on, which has the City asking drivers to avoid the area or use caution. Police will be helping with traffic control, as well.
The City cautions that the dates provided may change due to inclement weather.
